WHISTLER IN THE FALL
Enjoy uncertainty? Enjoy heights, tall trees and babbling brooks? Want to meet foraging bears needing food for their winter hibernation? All of these await you on hikes at Whistler in the fall. Come for one or both of the hikes.
Depending on the weather, on one day after riding the base gondola and the Peak to Peak gondola, a hike will go on the Blackcomb trails with 360 degree vistas and moderately easy walking. On the other day we can go to the Ancient Cedars or Loggers Lake or the Green Lake Parkhurst Ghost town.
Contact leaders close to the hike times to find out specific /possible/weather forecast dependent itinerary and where to meet. Participants will need to arrange their own rides and accommodation (if
doing both hikes) since leaders will be staying over and taking (non-Pathfinder) friends or family in their car.

SATURDAY JULY 6
SOCIAL: BARD ON THE BEACH –The Taming of the Shrew - Matinee- 2 pm --
The 2007 ‘spaghetti western’ version of The Taming of the Shrew – one of Bard’s most beloved productions – is the inspiration behind this hilarious Wild-West love story, where two fierce kindred spirits finally meet their match in each other.  Petruchio, the sharpest-shooting cowboy in the West meets Kate, the prickliest gal in Padua, and their throw-down contest of wills and wits will leave you laughing out loud as they bicker and battle their way towards a splendid love. This is followed by Bard on the Barbie – a barbecue at Margaret and John’s house, 4014 West 29 th Ave. Book your own ticket at Bard on the Beach, 604-739-0559 (www.bardonbeach.org). We recommend doing this early as tickets sell out quickly for matinees. Pathfinders are welcome to come just for the social event at 5 pm. Let Ann know if you are coming, and what you will bring to share: BYOB plus sides or dessert, burgers and buns provided.
